Possible causes
Tyre pressure and condition
Differences between tyres on the same axle can affect straight-line driving. Pressure, wear and any damage all matter. The starting point is checking the tyres, not hiding the pull with a random adjustment.
Wheel angles
Incorrect alignment is one possible cause. Mention any hit to a pothole or kerb and any recent suspension work. Whether an adjustment is needed is confirmed by a check, not just by the position of the steering wheel.
Worn parts or changes under braking
Play in the joints can change the position of a wheel under load. If the car pulls exactly when braking, that is a separate clue. Do not assume that simply adjusting the angles will solve it.
What to tell the mechanic
- Which way the car pulls and whether it happens constantly in normal driving.
- Whether the pull gets stronger when braking and whether there is vibration or knocking.
- Whether the problem appeared after a tyre change, a suspension repair, an impact or a change in load.
What you can do
If the pull appeared suddenly, the car is hard to keep in lane or brakes differently, stop in a safe place and call for help. Do not test at high speed and do not try to find the fault by letting go of the steering wheel.
Where the check starts
The mechanic finds the exact cause during the inspection.
Frequently asked questions
The steering wheel is crooked. Is it definitely an alignment problem?
It is a reason for a check, not a diagnosis. The tyres and suspension joints need to be assessed. Adjusting with faulty parts in place does not remove the original cause and may be wasted.
Which service should I choose at Titan?
Describe the problem on the phone and tell us the model and the latest work on the wheels. Titan offers suspension checks and 3D alignment. The order of the checks depends on the other symptoms. The workshop is at Petricani 17/3, Chișinău.
